BASICS OF ARCHITECTURE / 1st semester 2023
/ studio led by Ing. arch. Nicol Gale, MgA. Svatopluk Sládeček

The semester was split into three separate projects that introduced us to the basics of architecture.
1. BUS STOP ALONGSIDE RIVER
The assignment was to design a bus stop in the countryside, along a river, for approximately 10 people. The stop is inspired by the simpli-fied shape of an upturned leaf. Colored windows create a play of light, making the stop more pleasant... without dark corners, which are common in bus stops in my home region.

2. BIVOUAC SHELTER
During the workshop in Toulovcovy Maštale (CZ), we designed a bivouac for 2–3 people. I placed it on a hill away from the tourist trail, with a view of the valley. It serves as a safe place to sleep, where one can lay out a sleeping bag. The bivouac is positioned 3 meters above the ground to provide protection from wildlife and to prevent four-legged friends from appearing next to the sleeping bag

3. SMALL BUILDING, MAX 30m2
The assignment was to design a recreational building on a pre-determined oriented slope. The structure was to meet the requirements for a 4–5 member family with children. This task was preceded by a spatial essay focused on the structure and language of Villa Müller by Adolf Loos. The small building was to be designed with elements inspired by this villa.
